Welded mesh gabions for flood protection barrier / Coastal protection gabions
Description:
Flood Protection barriers can be effectively used for flood control as in flood prone areas we can employ a welded mesh gabion box as a flood barrier. when pounded by heavy masses of water, the impact, instead of being taken instantaneously, is gradually absorbed. Again, flexibility offers distinct advantages in coastal defence or defences. Huge sea walls can be constructed with high speed using these gabions. Advantageous than other solutions in marine and river environment as they are inert to alkaline and acidic attack
Features
Doesn't requires a proposed surface or excavation to place posts.
Can be filled with whatever material is available on the spot.
Can be simply dismantled, and the materials can be recovered and deployed to another site.
Easy to transport.
Can be easily handled in difficult terrains.
Life span more than 30 years.
Applications
Flood Control
Flood Control walls are a quick and easy to build, that do not require a concrete footings. This gabion stone wall prevents erosion of the river bank, and incorporates a bench seat built into the wall to enjoy the river bank from. Because the gabions are porous, they are able to diffuse the rivers energy when in flood are protect the river bank from being eroded away.
River Bank Flood Protection
Gabion erosion systems are able to retain a variety of soil types, including clays, silty clays and sand, as well as gravels.
Gabion riverbank
Gabion riverbank are small barriers constructed of a series of gabion baskets bound together to form a flexible row that acts to slow down the water flow in drainage ditches or storm water runoff channels.
Coastal Protection
Gabions walls are constructed to protect the seacoast against the erosion due to water and waves. Gabions will withstand alternative tension and compression without losing structural passage of water throughout the structure.
Culvert Outlet Protection
Gabions are an excellent solution for culvert outlet pipe protection. When properly installed, they help to reduce the depth, velocity and energy of water discharging from the outlet pipe.
