Type of coating for Nova Metal Gabion Baskets:
The following categories apply to double-twisted metal gabion baskets depending on the coating:
a- Type 1, Double-twisted wire mesh, fasteners, lacing wire, and stiffeners are fabricated from galvanized steel wire.
b- Type 2, Double-twisted wire mesh, fasteners, lacing wire, and stiffeners are all made from wire which is coated with Zn-5A1-MM/Zn-10A1-MM before being double-twisted into mesh.
c- Type 3, Double-twisted mesh, lacing wire, and stiffeners as type 1 and overcoated with PVC coating.
d- Type 4, Double-twisted mesh, lacing wire, and stiffeners as type 2 and overcoated with PVC coating.
Information to be supplied by the purchaser
The following information shall be supplied by the purchaser at the time of enquiry and order:
a) Number of Standard according to, for example: EN10223 or ASTM A 975;
b) Quantity and type of designation (for box gabions with or without diaphragms);
c) Size of the rolls or units;
d) Mesh size;
e) Wire diameter (mesh wire and lacing wire);
f) Coating type and class of coating, if applicable,
g) Characteristics of the eventual organic coating, if applicable;
h) Inspection documentation requirements.
