In flat woven type fabric, the warp, during weaving, is composed of yarn which is referred to as MD yarn. In order to make endless loops, fabrics are joined by connecting the warp yarn at the end of each fabric. PFM Screen uses automated seaming machines for connecting fabrics.

According to their weaving shed, single-layer forming fabrics could be used for the manufacture of kraft papers, tissue papers, writing & printing papers, and so on.

4-shed 3/1 Stain Weave

5-shed 1/4 Satin Weave

This type is typically used for packing paper or for culture or health paper, which provides better stretch and drainage properties than 4-shed. Retention can be improved by increasing weft yarns. Primarily used on tissue machines.

8-shed single layer

8-shed single layer polyester forming fabric is the most wear-resisting one in the single layer screen, which has long performance life, but mesh print is relatively deep. It is mainly used for copying the papermaking bag, craft paper, cardboard, corrugated paper, and so on.
