Function:
1. Control of actuator movements
Telescopic control: The multi-way valve assembly can directly control the telescopic movement of multiple hydraulic cylinders of the crane. For example, in the telescopic operation of the boom, the operator manoeuvres the corresponding handles or buttons of the manifold valve assembly, so that the hydraulic oil can flow into or out of the telescopic hydraulic cylinders of the boom according to specific paths and directions, thus accurately controlling the extending and retracting length of the boom to adapt to the needs of different lifting heights and working radii.
Luffing Control: For the truss boom structure of the crane, the multi-way valve assembly is responsible for controlling the action of its luffing hydraulic cylinders. The operator can control the multi-way valve assembly to make the truss smoothly lift up or down, so as to adjust the vertical position of the hook to ensure that the hook can be accurately aligned with the object to be lifted, which is convenient for lifting operation.
Slewing Control: Specific spool channels in the manifold valve assembly control the slewing motor of the crane turntable. When the crane's boom orientation needs to be adjusted, the operator operates the manifold valve assembly so that the hydraulic oil drives the slewing motor to rotate, which in turn drives the rotary table and boom to rotate in the horizontal plane, realising the crane's operation in different directions.
WINCH CONTROL: Control the hydraulic motor of the winch mechanism to realise the raising and lowering of the hook. The operator adjusts the flow and direction of hydraulic oil through the multi-way valve assembly to make the winch motor rotate forward or reverse, so as to control the lifting and lowering speed and height of the hook, in order to meet the requirements of different lifting conditions.
2. Adjustment of flow and pressure
Flow adjustment: The multi-way valve assembly can adjust the flow of hydraulic oil into each actuator according to different working requirements. When carrying out fine lifting operation, the operator can adjust the opening of the multi-way valve assembly smaller, so that the hydraulic oil flow into the hydraulic cylinder or motor is reduced, thus reducing the movement speed of the actuating elements, and realising slow and smooth operation; while when it is necessary to carry out fast transfer or adjust the position of the boom significantly, the opening can be adjusted larger, increasing the hydraulic oil flow and improving the movement speed of the actuating elements.
Pressure adjustment: The pressure in the system can be controlled through the pressure adjustment elements such as relief valve in the multi-way valve assembly. When the pressure in the system exceeds the set value, the relief valve will automatically open and return the excess hydraulic oil to the tank, thus protecting the hydraulic system from the impact of excessive pressure and preventing the hydraulic components from being damaged due to overpressure. At the same time, a stable system pressure also helps to ensure that the various actuating elements can work properly and provide sufficient power output.
3. Realisation of compound action
Telescopic and luffing compound: In the process of crane operation, it is often necessary for the boom to carry out telescopic and luffing actions at the same time, in order to improve operational efficiency. The multi-way valve assembly can realise the simultaneous action of multiple actuators through the internal oil circuit design and the cooperative work of the valve spool. For example, when the hook needs to be moved quickly from a lower position to a higher and farther position, the multi-way valve assembly can simultaneously control the boom telescopic and luffing hydraulic cylinders, so that the boom extends and performs the upward tilt and luffing action at the same time, thus moving the hook to the target position quickly.
Slewing and winching composite: When carrying out some special lifting operations, such as adjusting the position and angle of the hook in a narrow space, the multi-way valve assembly can realise the slewing of the crane rotary table and the winching action of the hook at the same time. The operator can make the slewing motor and the winch motor work at the same time through reasonable operation of the multi-way valve assembly, so as to realise the precise positioning of the hook in the three-dimensional space.
4. Ensure system safety
Overload protection: When the working load of an actuator exceeds its rated value, the safety valve in the manifold assembly will open automatically to limit the pressure of the hydraulic oil entering the actuator and prevent the actuator from being damaged due to overload. For example, when lifting overweight objects, if the pressure on the boom is too great, the safety valve in the manifold valve assembly will work in time to prevent the boom from being deformed or broken due to excessive force.
Oil replenishment function: In some cases, due to the leakage of the hydraulic system or other reasons, the system pressure may be insufficient. The replenishment valve in the multi-way valve assembly can open automatically when the system pressure is lower than a certain value, and introduce hydraulic oil from the tank for replenishment to ensure that the system always has enough pressure to maintain the normal work of each actuating element.
