Disposable Medical Endobronchial Blocker Tube Standard PU Cuff Type
Endobronchial blocker tube is a device which can be inserted down a tracheal tube after tracheal intubation so as to block off the right or left main bronchus of the lungs in order to be able to achieve a controlled one lung ventilation,The lung tissue distal to the obstruction will collapse, thus allowing the surgeon's view and access torelevant structures within the thoracic cavity.
Our blocker tubes are used to achieve lung separation and one lung ventilation as an alternative to Double-lumen tubes(DLT) and serve as a choice for pediatric patients as well.
Features
1.Endobronchial blocker is a device which can be inserted down a tracheal tube after tracheal intubation so as to block off the right or left main bronchus of the lungs in order to be able to achieve a controlled one lung ventilation.
2.The lung tissue distal to the obstruction will collapse, thus allowing the surgeon’s view and access to relevant structures within the thoracic cavity.
A disposable endobronchial blocker tube is a specialized medical device used to temporarily block a bronchus during endotracheal intubation to allow for one-lung ventilation in thoracic surgical procedures. It consists of a tracheal tube with an inflatable cuff and an inflatable bronchial blocker balloon.
Features:
Disposable: The tube is designed for single use only to prevent cross-contamination and infection.
Bronchial Blocker Balloon: The tip of the tube has an inflatable balloon that can be inserted into a bronchus to occlude airflow. The balloon can be inflated and deflated as needed to control the blockage of the bronchus.
Tracheal Tube: The body of the tube consists of a tracheal tube with an inflatable cuff that forms a seal against the tracheal wall, ensuring effective ventilation.
Depth Markings: The tube is marked with depth markings to help determine the proper insertion depth and ensure the tube is positioned correctly within the trachea.
Stylet: The tube may come with a stylet to help guide the tube into the bronchus.
Advantages:
One-Lung Ventilation: The disposable endobronchial blocker tube allows for one-lung ventilation during thoracic surgical procedures, where one lung needs to be collapsed to access the surgical site.
Reduced Complications: Compared to double-lumen endotracheal tubes, disposable endobronchial blocker tubes may be associated with a lower risk of complications, such as tracheal stenosis and vocal cord injury.
Ease of Use: Disposable endobronchial blocker tubes are generally easier to insert and use compared to double-lumen endotracheal tubes.
Cost-Effectiveness: Disposable endobronchial blocker tubes are typically more cost-effective than double-lumen endotracheal tubes.
Indications:
Disposable endobronchial blocker tubes are indicated for thoracic surgical procedures requiring one-lung ventilation, such as:
Lobectomy
Segmentectomy
Wedge resection
Contraindications:
In certain situations, disposable endobronchial blocker tubes may be contraindicated, such as:
Narrowing or obstruction of the airway
Severe airway bleeding
Patients with a strong cough or gag reflex
Patients with airway abnormalities or deformities
Conclusion:
The disposable endobronchial blocker tube is a valuable medical device used for one-lung ventilation in thoracic surgical procedures. Its bronchial blocker balloon, tracheal tube, depth markings, and stylet contribute to safe and effective intubation. Disposable endobronchial blocker tubes are indicated for thoracic surgical procedures requiring one-lung ventilation. However, they may be contraindicated in patients with airway narrowing or obstruction, severe airway bleeding, a strong cough or gag reflex, or airway abnormalities or deformities. Healthcare professionals must carefully assess each patient's condition and weigh the potential risks and benefits before selecting the appropriate endobronchial blocker tube for intubation.
