Lap Joint Flanges LJRF Nickel Alloy Loose Flanges for High Pressure Rating Offshore Field
This type of connection is used for piping in high-cost raw materials like as stainless steel and nickel alloy as it helps to reduce the overall cost of the needed flange connections. A lap joint connection is made by the combination of a stub end (which is the part welded to the pipe) and a backing flange, or lapped flange.
Lap Joint pipe flanges are used with Stub ends to make the flange connections in pipeline systems. These come in ½” to 24” sizes, in 150# , 300#, 400#, 600#,etc pressure class. A stainless steel stub end can be for example used in combination with a carbon steel lap joint flange to have a dependable welded connection at a cheaper cost than a full stainless steel connection (less stainless steel is needed, hence the cost is lower). Lap joint flanges have generally a raised face flange and are sealed with flat ring gasket.
