Duplex stainless steel F51/S31803 Sheet for Manufacturing Processing Machinery
F51 stainless steel, also known as UNS S31803, is a duplex stainless steel that has the following characteristics:
Two-phase structure: F51 stainless steel is composed of approximately equal parts ferrite and austenite phases. This structure gives the material a unique combination of properties.
High strength: Compared with traditional austenitic stainless steel, F51 stainless steel has higher yield strength and tensile strength.
Good corrosion resistance: F51 stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance, especially in resisting pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. This makes them suitable for use in highly corrosive environments such as marine environments and the chemical industry.
Resistant to chloride corrosion: F51 stainless steel is particularly suitable for chloride-containing environments because chloride is a major corrosion factor in many traditional stainless steels.
Good welding properties: F51 stainless steels generally have good welding properties, which makes them easier to process during construction and manufacturing.
Lower coefficient of thermal expansion: Compared to austenitic stainless steels, F51 stainless steels have a lower coefficient of thermal expansion, which makes them more dimensionally stable under temperature changes.
Higher creep resistance: In some high-temperature applications, F51 stainless steel has better creep resistance than austenitic stainless steel.
Due to these characteristics, F51 stainless steel is the material of choice in many industrial sectors such as chemicals, oil, gas, pulp and paper, and marine engineering.
