Inconel 625 is widely used due to its high strength, excellent workability, good weldability and excellent corrosion resistance. Its operating temperature range can cover cryogenic temperatures to 1800°F (982°C).
The strength of INCONEL 625 alloy is generated by the hardening effect of molybdenum and niobium in the nickel-chromium matrix, so the alloy does not require precipitation hardening. This combination of elements is also the reason why the material is super corrosion-resistant in many highly corrosive environments and resistant to oxidation and carburization in high-temperature environments.
