The SCC board is used for DCC communication, subrack cascading, power supply backup and clock.

The SCC in a master subrack performs the same functions as the SCC in the slave subrack, and also processes overhead bytes and handles the alarms of all its slave subracks. The SCC in the master subrack connects to the network management system (NM). The configuration commands are issued to the SCC of a slave subrack through the SCC in the master subrack. |
