Product Detail

A standard Cat5e UTP Ethernet data cable on the inside of the jacket, the Cat5e SWA armoured data cable has the added avantage that it has a steel wire armour (SWA) and a superior external grade thick PE jacket which makes it suitable for all external applications as well as being tough enough to pull through ducts, directly burying in the ground or any vandal plagued insulation, it also protects against moisture and UV stable.

Armored 8 pair high performance cable that consists of twisted pairs, used mainly for data transmission. Category 5E cables support a frequency range of up to 100MHz and designed for transmission speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second (Gigabit Ethernet). For installations where fire, smoke emissions and toxic fumes create a petential risk to life and equipment.

UTP or FTP Armoured CAT5E Cable

There are 2 options of armoured Cat5E data cable. You have the more popular UTP version or the FTP cable.

UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) is what your Cat5E Ethernet cable at home will be. The FTP cable has a foil twisted around the four pairs of Ethernet cable.

FTP is usually deployed in environments where there is lots of noise and vibration. For example running a armoured Cat5E next to loud machiner in warehouse.
