Allen Bradley 1769-IT6 Ser /A CompactLogix 6-Ch Thermocouple/mV Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1769-IT6 Thermocouple/mV Input Module is a compact device that measures thermocouple and millivolt signals. These measurements are digitally converted and stored as analog data in any combination of up to six thermocouple or millivolt analog sensors. Over-range, under-range, open-circuit detection, and indication are provided. Each input channel can be configured via system-compatible software for specific filter frequency, input device, and data format.
The 1769-IT6 Compact Input Module has 6 input channels plus 2 CJC sensors. It has a Delta Sigma converter type and its response speed per channel is input filter and configuration dependent. It communicates with the controller via the bus interface where it also receives power from the 5-24V DC system power supply. The 1769-IT6 module draws a maximum current of 100 mA at 5 Volts DC, and 40 mA at 24 Volts DC. Upon powerup and when a channel is enabled, this input module performs auto-calibration. Auto-calibration can also be programmed to run every five minutes.
The 1769-IT6 is UL 508 listed, C-UL certified (under CSA C22.2 No. 142), and CE compliant for applicable directives. It can be attached to an adjacent I/O module or to the controller before or after (single module replacement) mounting. To reduce electrical noise, install this measurement device at least two slots away from an AC power supply. When mounting, maintain a minimum spacing clearance of two inches on all sides for adequate ventilation.
This module is ideally useful in temperature applications as Thermocouple instruments are used specifically for temperature measurement. Additionally, millivolt signals are typically used for interfacing transducers.
This module is specifically compatible for measurement of temperature such as -210...+1200 °C for Temperature Type J, -270...+1370 °C for Type K, -270...+400 °C for Type T, -270...+1000 °C for type E, 0...+1768 °C for Type R, 0...+1768 °C for Type S, +300...+1820 °C for Type B, 210...+1300 °C for Type N and 0...+2315 °C for Type C Thermocouples. Each of the analog input can be configured for Engineering units, Scaled for PID, and Raw / Proportional Data.
