The Force FX-8C generator is a self-contained unit consisting of the main body (lid and base) and the power cord. The main components of the generator are the following:

• Front panel components: Power button; Controls for adjusting mode and power output; Buttons for recalling recently used settings and performance modes; Sockets for connecting electrosurgical accessories; and reminders of current settings and patient returns. Electrode status display.

• Rear Components: Volume Control; three sockets for foot switches; power input module; potential equalization ground strap; three ports (serial port, RF enable port, expansion port).

• Internal components – control board (microcontroller); scoreboard; pedal switch board; Power/Radio Frequency (RF) Board; low voltage power supply; Fan; and heat sink. The handle is located at the bottom of the case.

The instrument port of this generator is designed to accept only one instrument at a time. Do not attempt to connect more than one instrument to a particular outlet at the same time. This activates the instruments at the same time.

Do not stack equipment on the generator or place the generator on electrical equipment (except Force GSU equipment, Force Argon equipment, CUSA System 200 equipment, or CUSA EXcel equipment). These configurations are unstable and/or do not provide adequate cooling.

Leave as much distance as possible between the electrosurgical generator and other electronic devices (e.g. monitors). An activated electrosurgical generator can cause interference.

Warning

Do not lower the activation tone to an inaudible level. An activation tone alerts the surgical team when the accessory is active.
