Cleaning and disinfection of the transducer (cleaning method)
1. Disconnect the drive from the system.
2. Remove all parts of the sensor housing.
3. Wipe the surface with a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild soap or cleaning solution to remove any particles or body fluids. Apply the
solution to the cloth, not the surface.
4. Rinse with water or wipe with a cloth moistened with water; Then wipe it with a dry cloth.
5. Mix a disinfectant solution compatible with the sensor according to the instructions on the disinfectant label for solution concentration and
disinfectant contact time.
6. Clean the surfaces with a disinfectant solution.
7. Air dry.
8. Check the sensor and cable for damage such as cracks, splits, or fluid leakage. If damage is detected, stop using the sensor and contact
SonoSite or your local representative.
Cleaning and disinfecting the transducer (immersion method)
1. Disconnect the drive from the system.
2. Remove all parts of the sensor housing.
3. Wipe the surface with a soft cloth lightly dampened with mild soap or a compatible cleaning solution to remove any particles or body fluids.
Apply the solution to the cloth, not the surface.
4. Rinse with water or wipe with a cloth moistened with water and then wipe with a dry cloth.
5. Mix a disinfectant solution compatible with the sensor according to the instructions on the disinfectant label for solution concentration and
disinfectant contact time.
6. Immerse the sensor in the disinfectant solution no more than 12-18 inches (31-46 cm) from where the cable enters the connector. Follow the
instructions on the disinfectant label when immersing the probe.
7. Rinse until submerged as directed on the disinfectant label, then air dry or dry with a clean cloth.
8. Check the sensor and cable for damage such as cracks, splits, or fluid leakage. If damage is detected, stop using the sensor and contact
SonoSite or your local representative.
