About the battery

NOTE The wall system battery provides backup power in the event of a power outage, but does not provide power for normal use. Except for cleaning and maintenance work, the wall system must remain connected to the mains at all times.

If the device is not receiving power, it appears that the new battery is dead. The Device Status section displays a low battery message when 30 minutes remain and again when 5 minutes remain.

The following practices will help extend the life of your battery and device.

If possible, leave the monitor connected to charge the battery.

• Remove the battery if the device will be stored for an extended period.

• Replace batteries that display a low battery level message when fully charged.

• Do not use damaged or leaking batteries.

• Store batteries with 30 to 50 percent charge.

• Store batteries within the specified temperature range for all periods: For storage less than 30 days: Keep the temperature between -20°C and 50°C (-4°F and 122°F).

For storage between 30 and 90 days: Maintain the temperature between -20°C and 40°C.

For storage longer than 90 days and 2 years: Maintain the temperature between -20°C and 35°C.
