P/N 6640044 MAQUET SERVO I SERVO S Ventilator O2 Cell
The O2 cell is housed in the housing of the suction tube and protected by a bacterial filter.
Maintenance, including changing the bacterial filter according to the owner's manual. During "preventive maintenance", the bacterial filter must also be replaced. The output voltage provided by the oxygen cell is proportional to the partial pressure of oxygen in the suction tube. At constant ambient pressure, this output is proportional to the percentage of O2 concentration. In each o2 cell, the output signal will remain at a fairly constant level, typically in the 10-17mV range. The lifespan of cells is affected by O2 concentration. If the concentration (at the cell) is % and the expected cell life is in hours, the following conditions apply at 25°C (77oF): o2Conc. x Expected cell lifetime = 500 000% hours. The O2 battery is automatically calibrated each time a pre-use check is performed (if the O2 is connected to the ventilator). If the ventilator is used continuously for a long time, the measured O2 concentration may drop due to the normal degradation of O2 cells. This will activate a nuisance alarm. NOTE: A pre-use inspection is recommended

O2 cell test
Calibrate and check o2 cell at 21% o2 and 100% o2. Check oxygen cells for wear. Due to the different gas mixtures used in this test, the O2 cells will not be calibrated and checked if one gas is missing. (BRE + MON)
Recommended action if the test fails
1. Check that the connected air supply pressure (air and oxygen) is within the specified range.
2. Replace the O2 battery.
3. Replace the gas module. Replace one gas module at a time.
4. Replace the PC1771 control.
5. Replace the PC1772 monitoring system.
Recalibrate the oxygen cell
If the ventilator is used continuously for a long period of time, the measured O2 concentration may decrease due to normal deterioration of the oxygen cell. To avoid nuisance alarms in this situation, the O2 unit can be temporarily adjusted during ventilation.
When the O2 cell adjustment function is activated, the oxygen cell is recalibrated so that the current measured O2 concentration is equal to the O2 concentration set by the user. This temporary adjustment remains in effect until the fan is switched off.
Important: Before using the Servo-i, be sure to perform a preliminary check to make sure the O2 unit is properly calibrated.
To recalibrate the O2 cell:
1. Press the fixed key menu.
2. Press the Biomed touchpad.
3. Press the O2 cell adjustment touchpad.
4. Press Yes to tap the pad to perform
Adaptation of the O2 cell.
