How to charge the battery
The battery can be charged in one of two ways:
Use the CadexSMartTwo+ charger outside the patient monitor.
Inside the patient monitor connected to AC power.
Charge the battery with the CadexSMartTwo + charger
1. Insert the battery into the charger. LED power indicator.
2. Leave the battery in the charger until the LED lights up
NOTE: If the error LED is on, remove the battery from the charger and reinsert it. This should fix any loader timeout errors. However, if this does not fix the charging depleted error, then the battery is faulty and needs to be replaced.
Charge the battery in the patient monitor
Note non-recommended (incompatible) batteries will not charge in the Dash patient monitor.
The battery charges when the patient monitor is connected to AC power.
When you store the battery in a patient monitor connected to AC power (a state called "floating"), the battery will self-discharge to less than 90% of its full charge capacity in about two weeks (depending on the battery temperature). At this point, the patient monitor will automatically charge the battery to 100% of its full charge capacity
How to store batteries
1.Conditioning the battery to 100% capacity before the battery is stored can improve the battery's storage shelf life.
2.Store the battery outside the patient monitor at a temperature of 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F).
How to wake up the battery
When the battery is stored for a long time without charging, it will eventually lose all power and "fall asleep". When the battery is "asleep", none of the LEDs on the battery will light up when the battery's on/off button is pressed. You have to "wake up" the battery to use it again.
There are two ways to wake up the battery:
1.Use the SMartTwo+ charger through Cadex.
2.Inside the patient monitor connected to AC power.
