Impedance Control PCB FAQ
Q: Can I use my stack-up for the required impedance control?
A: Our engineering will try our best to keep your stack-up and if your impedance control cannot be acheived, we will send you suggested stack-up for confirmation before production. The traces width and space might also be adjusted to meet your requirement.
Q:How many different types of prepregs can I use?
A: Linked recommends not to use more than three different types of prepregs in the PCB stack-up. Try to avoid using prepregs that have very low resin and high glass content: very low resin content may lead to resin starvation during lamination.
Q. How much impedance tolerance can you deliver?
A: The standard impedance tolerance is 15% according to IPC standard. At Linked Electroincs, we have stricter tolerance, that is10%.
Q:What does influence the PCB board impedance?
A: Following factors that influence impedance PCB tolerances which includes materials’ resin content and tolerance, and copper weight and width.
