Introduction
Carrier tapes are mainly used in the electronic component mounting industry. It is used together with the cover tape (top sealing tape) to carry electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, transistors, diodes, etc. in the pockets of the carrier tape, and form a closed package by sealing the cover tape on top of the carrier tape, which is used to protect the electronic components from being contaminated and damaged during transport. When the electronic components are mounted, the cover tape is peeled off and the automatic mounting equipment removes the components from the pockets and mounts them on the IC boards through the precise positioning of the index holes of the carrier tape.

The whole packing reels including the carrier tape, cover tape and external reell, customers use the manual or automatic tape and reel machine to pick the components into the carrier tape, at the same time use the cover tape to cover the components tightly to protect and fix the components in the tape, at last packing to a whole reel.
