At our manufacturing facilities we offer the:
Why use XHT for your Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS)?
Testing Engineering
XHT has the experience and capability to provide test engineering and development for our customers' products. We support the testing and validation of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assemblies, cable assemblies, and complete product builds that we manufacture. This is a critical process that ensures the reliability and performance of our customers’ products.
Leveraging our test engineering capabilities and strong partnerships, we assist in the design and implementation of tests for our customers. This includes In-Circuit Tests (ICT) and Functional Tests (FT) to ensure product functionality and compliance.
In addition, XHT offers a range of environmental tests (such as Thermatron), and we collaborate with partners to conduct bare board micro-sectioning. This process ensures the reliability of our customers’ designs, adherence to supply chain specifications, and the quality of our craftsmanship in line with IPC 610 E standards.
All test functions are performed by our in-house test engineers, technicians, and operators, allowing us to quickly adapt and support any test changes or modifications as needed.
At XHT, we utilize the Agilent 3070 Series 2 In-Circuit Test (ICT) system, which employs a "bed of nails" vacuum fixture to test each component assembled on the circuit board. ICT is instrumental in detecting and isolating manufacturing-related defects such as shorts, opens, missing components, incorrect components, and improper component orientation. We collaborate with our partners to design the fixtures and program them to meet the specific test parameters and coverage based on the customer’s design.
XHT also offers functional testing services. We work closely with our partners to design mechanical fixtures and develop programming tailored to the product. Our dedicated team ensures comprehensive functional testing, especially for new energy products such as inverters, batteries, BMS protection boards, and controllers. Since modern electronic designs often include programmable and custom components, the development of functional tests involves close collaboration between the customer and XHT.
Boundary scan testing is used to evaluate interconnects (wire lines) on Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and within integrated circuits. This method is particularly useful for debugging, especially with BGAs (Ball Grid Arrays), allowing our engineers to monitor integrated circuit pin states and measure voltage. XHT partners with experts to develop boundary scan test programs tailored to our customers' needs.
At XHT, our Design for Manufacturing (DFM) services provide customers with a strategic advantage. We offer customized engineering reviews and recommendations aimed at improving efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and repeatability within the manufacturing process. Our DFM approach ensures that products are optimized for our assembly processes, reducing errors and increasing production reliability.
When optimizing the final design of complete products, including inverters, batteries, controllers, and other new energy products, it is crucial to consider factors such as hardware selection, cable assembly routing, and other electro-mechanical components. XHT offers Bill of Materials (BOM) review services, including RoHS verification, obsolescence management, stock availability, and alternate sourcing. With extensive experience in complex assembly, we provide valuable input during critical design reviews, ensuring an optimal final design before production begins.
XHT offers comprehensive Design for Test (DFT) analysis services. We review designs from various CAD systems and Gerber files to ensure optimal testability. Our DFT analysis identifies points in the assembly that can be probed via in-circuit test (ICT) or flying probe systems, as well as opportunities for boundary scan testing. We conduct schematic design reviews to ensure test coverage and optimize testing efficiency.
At XHT, we thoroughly test all wires and cables from end to end. We can develop customized interfaces to accommodate your specific cable and harness configurations. Our Cirris cable test systems support the automated testing of both simple and complex harnesses, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of your cable assemblies.
Maintaining the highest standards of quality is fundamental to everything we do at XHT, especially in electro-mechanical assembly and complete product building. Our facilities are certified to ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D standards, and we consistently meet or exceed other key industry standards such as IPC and RoHS, ensuring that our products conform to the most stringent requirements.
