The Paste is a type of soft brown petrolatum primer that contains a mixture of compounds designed to displace moisture and inhibit corrosion. It is typically applied by either brushing it on or using gloved hands at normal temperatures. Unlike many similar products, it does not crack, dry out, or harden over time.
Second paragraph:One of the primary uses of this product is as a primer to prepare surfaces for the application of petrolatum tapes. When used in this way, the Petroleum Paste is able to penetrate areas that already have rust, which helps to displace any moisture present and pacify the affected surface.
Third paragraph:Additionally, the Petroleum Paste aids in the adhesion of tapes and mastic. By using this product as a primer, it creates a surface that is ideally suited for application of these materials.
To remove rust, use a wire brush and wipe the soil with rags. This will ensure a clean surface where the PETRO PASTE can be applied. The PETRO PASTE is applied by hands with a 300~500g/m2 range and should be applied regularly.
For areas with complicated and uneven surfaces such as in valves and flanges, PETRO PASTE can also serve as a filler. It can fill in gaps that came out when tape wrapping in those uneven areas.
When applying tape, overlap by at least 15 minutes with a 30~50% margin. After that, the tape needs to be leveled with stroking by hands to remove the joints according to the line. This ensures that the surface is even and ready for use.
For finishing purposes, P.V.C OUTER TAPE is used. There are different colors available based on environmental indications.
