Petroleum Paste is a soft brown petrolatum primer that contains corrosion inhibiting compounds. It is designed for easy application by brush or gloved hand at normal temperature. Unlike other primers, this paste doesn't crack, dry or harden.
Petroleum Paste is mainly used as a primer before applying petrolatum tapes. This paste can penetrate existing rust, displace moisture, pacify the surface and aid in the adhesion of tapes and mastic. It works effectively by preventing corrosion and inhibiting the growth of rust on the surface. This primer will ensure that the tapes adhere firmly and that the mastic creates an excellent seal.
1. Rust Removal: To remove rust, use a wire brush and wipe the soil with rags for best results. This will help get rid of any loose rust and clean off the surface.
2. Application of PETRO PASTE: Apply PETRO PASTE regularly with a range of 300~500g/m2 by hand. This is an effective way to protect against rust and keep surfaces smooth and clean.
3. Use as Filler on Complicated and Uneven Surfaces: PETRO PASTE is ideal for application on complicated or uneven surfaces, such as valves, flanges, and unevenness. It can fill in any gaps that may have come out when tape wrapping to provide a smooth surface.
4. Overlapping and Leveling: After 15 minutes (30~50% overlap), swathe the surface with PETRO PASTE and level the tape by hand to remove any joints according to the line. This will ensure a smooth and even surface.
5. Use P.V.C OUTER TAPE: P.V.C OUTER TAPE is ideal for use in places that require a finishing touch. It is available in various colors that can indicate the environmental situation and works great for final touches and aesthetic appeal.
