Petrolatum tape is an excellent choice for protecting vital equipment from rust and decay. Made with a non-woven fiber fabric, it is coated with a neutral compound of inert siliceous fillers and saturated petrolatum. This method results in a non-hardening, non-cracking wrap that has exceptional resistance to mineral acids, alkali, and micro-organisms.
Moreover, this tape is highly impermeable to gases and water vapor, making it an exceptional choice for cleanliness and long-lasting effectiveness. At its core, it is designed for the protection of buried or exposed pipes, rods, cable, valves, and metal fittings from corrosion. The tape's composition ensures that it can withstand harsh environments and volatile conditions to keep the protected equipment safe.
This petrolatum impregnated tape, also known as grease wrapping tape or Pipeline Coating Protection Tape, is designed to provide effective protection for pipelines against corrosion, moisture, and other environmental factors. Its non-woven, stitch-bonded, synthetic fabric carrier makes it highly durable and resistant to wear and tear, while its brown color and UV resistance ensure that it remains highly visible and effective over long periods of time. With its excellent temperature and water resistance, this tape is ideal for use in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications, making it a versatile and reliable choice for protecting and maintaining pipelines of all types and sizes.

1. Clean the concrete surface to remove any impurities or dirt. Clean the metal surface to remove any rust, but not tightly attached paint. Surface de-rusting standard for St3 should be followed.
Stop construction in rainy, high-humidity or windy & dusty days.
In case of severe edge warping in an annular plate or uneven concrete surface, pretreatment for leveling is required, and other materials (e.g., concrete mortar) can be used as fillers.
2. Apply Asphalt Base Oil evenly on the concrete surface to form a complete and thick waterproof layer; and apply AC Flexible Visco-elastic Tape Primer evenly on the tank wall and metal annular plate.
When AC Flexible Visco-elastic Tape Primer is dry, apply AC Flexible Anti-UV Visco-elastic Tape (total width: 150 mm) tightly on the tank wall (100 mm) and annular plate. Use a roller to compact the applied tape and smooth out any folds.
When Asphalt Base Oil becomes dry, apply AC Flexible Grease Sealing Paste on AC Flexible Anti-UV Visco-elastic Tape and concrete platform evenly. Use 1 kg paste for every 3-5 m2 surface. This paste will not dry. AC Flexible Grease Sealing Paste should be applied no later than 1 hour after the application of AC Flexible Anti-UV Visco-elastic Tape.
3. Fill a layer of AC Flexible Grease Fiber Filler from where the tank wall and annular plate join to the outer part. This layer should have a smooth and even surface, and form an outward and lowering slope (> 8°) to avoid water collection. More filler is needed in case of severe edge warping in an annular plate or uneven concrete surface.
