NACE RP0375-2006 Standard's Petrolatum mastic is a type of mastic that is applied cold to seal and fill pipeline valves, flanges, and other components. This material is suitable for use in a wide range of different climates and environments.
This mastic is often used to create a contour that is suitable for wrapping with petrolatum tape around complex or irregular shapes like flanges, valves, and joints. To achieve this, it contains inert siliceous fillers and vegetable fibers that help mold it into the desired shape.
This product complies with the NACE RP0375-2006 standard and is suitable for use on marginally prepared surfaces (SSPC SP 2-3). It can even conform to irregular shapes and profiles, making it extremely versatile.
Another great feature of this product is that it can be applied to cold, wet surfaces, and is completely unaffected by water, acids, salts, or organic soil contaminants, providing peace of mind for its users. Additionally, it encapsulates lead paint, making it a safer option for the environment and for workers.
Furthermore, this product contains no solvents, which makes it easy to apply in both arctic and tropical environments, and is ready for use immediately after application. It complies with the AS 4822-2008, ISO 21809-3:2008, and AWWA C217 standards, and can be trusted for all your industrial needs.

When using the coating & wrapping application technique, it is important to ensure that the volume solution temperature is above 5°C. In addition, the application temperature should be carried out at 5°C or above to avoid any issues.
To apply the paste, it is recommended to use a thin coat and apply it to threads, cavities, shoulders, pits, and other irregularities. This will ensure a smooth and even application.
If there are uneven areas, such as flanges and valves, it is recommended to stuff mastic into these areas. The mastic should be molded and packed into the irregularities to eliminate bridging and voids.
After applying the paste and mastic, it is important to wrap petrolatum tape around the surface while applying tension to assure tight tape adhesion. This will ensure that the tape adheres properly and securely.
For outer protection of petrolatum tape from mechanical damages and better isolation from air, it is recommended to use PVC tape. This will provide an additional layer of protection and help prevent any issues from occurring.
