Ozone(O3) is a colorless to pale blue gasthat in low concentrations gives off an irratating acidic odor. It is a strong oxidizer, stronger than either chlorine or chlorine dioxide.

Ozone reacts quickly and disintegrates into oxygen gas, without the formation of harmful byproducts common to most chlorine chemistries.
