Conductivity or specific conductivity refers to how a medium conducts electricity. We know that the water is energized, which is why we don’t swim in a thunderstorm or use a hair dryer in a bathtub. However, water itself is not a good electrical conductor.

If the water wants to be energized, there must be ions. The conductivity of water is usually measured in industrial and environmental applications as a simple way to determine the number of ions present.
