What is Geogrid?
A geogrid is a geosynthetic made from a polymeric material. Geogrids are formed by weaving or knitting intersecting ribs with appropriate apertures (open spaces for the ribs to fit into). Primarily, a geogrid is used for reinforcement applications in various types of construction projects but can be used for separation applications as well. They are open grids that allow the soil to strike through the apertures and the two materials interlock together to give composite behavior. There is a high demand for geogrids in construction because they are good in tension and have an increased ability to distribute loads across a large area.

Applications:
Application of biaxial geogrid: biaxial plastic geogrid is used to strengthen the subgrade of various highways and railways. Increase the bearing capacity of subgrade and extend the service life of subgrade; Prevent cracks on the pavement; Reduce repair costs; Reduce the construction period. The biaxial geogrid is applicable to the permanent foundation reinforcement of large parking lot and wharf freight yard. Increase the bearing capacity of the foundation and guard the ground against collapse, which can make the ground elegant and neat; The construction is convenient, time-saving and labor-saving. Bidirectional geogrid is applied to the secondary reinforcement of soil slope reinforced by unidirectional tensile plastic geogrid.
Construction method
The paving surface of the geogrid shall be relatively flat. After the paving layer is accepted, in order to prevent longitudinal deflection, first draw a white line or hang a line on the paving layer according to the width, and then start paving, and then fix the end of the grid with iron nails (8 nails per meter wide, fixed at an even distance). After fixing the end of the grid, use the paver to slowly clean the grid
Pull and pave forward. Manually tighten and straighten each 10m long until one roll of grid is paved, and then pave the next roll. The operation is the same as before. After paving one roll, use 6t-10t roller to roll it in the forward direction from the starting point, (if it is paved on the middle surface course and leveling course, it is better to use steel roller; if the grid is directly paved on the concrete pavement, it is better to use rubber roller.) Paving: take the roll length as the length of the section to be paved. After the section to be paved with the grid is paved, check the paving quality as a whole, and then pave the next section. When the next section is paved, the grid and the grid can be overlapped with a length of 10-15cm, fixed with iron nails or wooden wedges, and then continue to pave the second section in the forward direction, and so on. The operation requirements are the same as before.
