Module Basics
The X20DS1319 is a multifunction digital signal processor module. It comes equipped with 4 digital input channels and 4 configurable digital channels that can serve as either inputs or outputs. Additionally, it features 1 universal counter pair with multiple counter types. This module also includes a linear movement generator and an SSI absolute encoder, making it suitable for a wide range of digital signal - related operations.
Function and Application
This module offers great flexibility in digital signal processing and generation. It can be used in controlling stepper output stages using pulse and direction signals. Another common application is encoder emulation. In scenarios like frequency inverters or servo axes with speed follow function, they can follow a real or virtual master axis, demonstrating the module's versatility in industrial control applications.
Integrated Timestamp Feature
An outstanding feature of the X20DS1319 is its integrated NetTime timestamp function. During encoder emulation, it enables the generation of counter ramps curves almost independently of bus cycle times. Only the target counter value and the time to reach it need to be provided. The module then accurately generates the corresponding counter values in microsecond resolution, regardless of the bus clock, enhancing the precision and efficiency of operations.
