The Keda/Potency KMS810 Anchor Cable Installation Vehicle is an equipment designed to install anchor cables directionally in the soft rock and large deformation tunnel of Muzhailing Tunnel. This specialized equipment is a joint development of the owner, the research team of Southwest Jiaotong University, and the construction party, China Railway Tunnel Bureau.
With its innovative design, the equipment integrates various operations, including drilling, anchoring agent installation and mixing, anchor cable feeding, pre-tensioning, and measurement, and grouting. This makes it a versatile and efficient solution for the installation of anchor cables for large deformation tunnels. It is the first equipment of its kind in China that can tackle the installation of anchor cables for such tunnels.
The anchor cable installation system is designed with a rock drilling propulsion structure which enables the combination of feeding and mixing functions of the anchor cables. In addition, an auxiliary feeding device has also been developed to perform simultaneous actions of feeding and mixing, thereby enhancing the efficacy of the process.
During the mixing of anchor cables, the system has a mixing work stroke of up to 2 meters. This ensures that the anchor cables are thoroughly mixed before being installed. The propulsion speed of the system during anchor cable mixing is a high 3m/min, ensuring that the anchor cables are mixed efficiently within a short period of time.
The anchor cable mixing rotation speed of the system is also a noteworthy feature as it is maintained at a minimum of 300rpm. This high rotation speed guarantees that the anchor cables are thoroughly mixed and well-prepared for installation, as even the slightest inconsistencies can have negative impacts on the overall stability of the structure they are supporting.

Rock drilling system:
The rock drilling system includes foot locking, advanced small conduit, and system anchor rod. It is designed for drilling within a diameter range of 33-64mm and to a depth of 4.5m. The system allows for a drilling speed of 1-1.5m/min.
Arm system:
The arm system features a folding and telescopic structure, which enables easy storage and transportation. The forearm of the arm system is automatically leveled to ensure stability during operation. The maximum working height of the arm system is 12m, and the maximum homework width is 15m.
Engineering chassis:
The engineering chassis is equipped with four wheel drive, which enables it to climb surfaces with a maximum inclination of 22° and a maximum walking speed of 20km/h. The chassis also has four wheel steering, allowing it to have a minimum turning radius of 3m on the inner side and 6m on the outer side.
