1. The earliest CNC machines date back to the 1940s when electric motors were first used to control the motion of existing tools. As technology progressed, mechanisms were enhanced with analog and eventually digital computers, which led to the rise of CNC machining. CNC machines for CNC machining are able to run on a program consisting of number and letter based prompts that guide the workpiece at different distances. Programming for the mill can be based on G-code or some unique language developed by the manufacturing team. The basic mill consists of a three-axis system (X, Y and Z), although most newer mills can accommodate three additional axes.
