How to choose the spring for my mold
1. OD
OD =2*ID, so the OD of spring shoulder be twice of your pins
The inner diameter of our mold spring are positive tolerance, e,g.: the diameter of pins is 7.5mm, the OD of spring should be 15mm, we have the standard size 14mm spring only and it is useable.
2. Length
Free length =(stroke + pre-compressed length)/Compression ratio
Pre-compressed length usually is 10% of the free length.
Compression ratio is according to the lifetime, as shown in the table below:

3. Color and loading
Elastic force=spring constant * compressed length
Generally speaking, the elastic force when the spring is pre-compressed should bigger than 2~2.5 times the weight of the ejector plate, the elastic force when the spring is compressed should bigger than 1.3 times of all the pressure on it, of course, the force is shared by all springs, so pay attention to the number of them

Materials of Compression Springs
1. 65Mn
The strength is relatively low, with a certain degree of toughness and plasticity, and the elastic coefficient is equivalent to that of alloy spring steel. But the hardenability is poor, mainly used for smaller size springs, injection mold springs.
Tensile Strength ≥735MPa
Yield Strength ≥430MPa
Elongation δ10 (%):14~21.5
Application: Can be competent for general injection molds, low price is its core competitiveness
2. 55Si2Mn
The 55Si2Mn spring steel has high strength, good elastic limit, high yield ratio, good toughness after heat treatment, and higher hardenability than 65Mn steel. It is suitable for the manufacture of flat springs with medium loads such as railway vehicles, automobiles, and tractors, and spiral springs with a diameter of less than 25mm. Cushion springs and cylinder safety valves are important springs that work under high stress, and can also be used as heat-resistant springs below 250°C.
Tensile Strength ≥1274MPa
Yield Strength ≥1176MPa
Elongation δ10 (%) ≥ 6%
Application: Can be competent for all the injection molds and punching dies, anti-deformation ability is its core competitiveness
3. 50CrVA
The 50CrVa is a high-grade spring steel, has higher toughness, strength and elastic limit, fatigue strength, lower elastic modulus, higher yield ratio and hardenability, and good impact toughness; suitable for manufacturing large cross-section high-load springs and valve springs and piston springs whose working temperature is not higher than 300℃;
Tensile Strength ≥1274MPa
Yield Strength ≥1127MPa
Elongation δ5 (%) ≥10%
Application: Can be competent for all the injection molds and punching dies, especially for high temperature injection molds and large punching dies, temperature resistance ability and high-loading are its core competitiveness
