Ni: 63.0 MIN Cu: 28.0-34.0 Fe: 2.50 MAX C: 0.30 MAX Mn: 2.00 MAX
S: 0.024 MAX Si: 0.50MAX
Physical properties:
Density: 8.80g/cm3 Melting range: 1300-1350℃
Metallographic structure of Monel 400:
The structure of Monel400 alloy is a high - strength single - phase solid solution.
Corrosion resistance of Monel 400:
Monel400 alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in fluorine gas, hydrochloric acid,
sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and their derivatives. At the same time,
it has better corrosion resistance than copper base alloy in seawater.
Acid medium:
Monel400 is resistant to corrosion in less than 85% sulfuric acid.
Monel400 is one of the few important materials that can withstand hydrofluoric acid.
Ammonia corrosion:
Monel400 alloy has high nickel content, so it can withstand the corrosion under anhydrous ammonia and ammoniation conditions below 585℃.
