Brownouts Stable Din Rail Kwh Meters , Split Keypad STS Prepayment Meter
The CA168-S is a Din Rail mounting split type single-phase prepayment meter operating with STS standard encryption algorithm. It is available with option for SMPS sustaining power supply , enabling the meter to work with stable performance even in brownouts, making it a sound revenue controller suitable for constantly unstable grid.
The meter operates in two parts: MCU, Metering Control Unit, and CIU, Customer Interface Unit. The CIU is a tactile and audible keypad with LCD display, normally installed under consumer's roof. The MCU, or the main meter is usually installed in a secure, locked enclosure - typically a pavement kiosk or pole-mounted equivalent. It is outside the consumer’s premises to facilitate easy inspection by the utility at any time, thus reducing the possibility of tampering.
Thanks to the slim-line size and DIN rail housing, multiple Power-Rail meters can be mounted in a small enclosure thereby making installation cost effective. It is ideal for installation in Granny Flats, Individual Rented Units, Shops, Stores and Sporting Facilities.
Connection between the meter and CIU is via a pair of communications wires. The MCU contains all critical metering, encryption, decryption and load control functionality. It operates independently of the customer interface unit and is immune to any form of tampering on the customer interface.
