Machined PTFE components have low friction coefficient and self-wettability make it widely used in manufacturing bearings, piston rings, machine tool guideways and sealing materials. Machined PTFE components, like most plastics, has higher compressive strength than tensile strength, generally 2-3 times greater, i.e. the compressive fracture force of plastics is always greater than the tensile fracture force. Therefore, in CNC machining PTFE, the shape of the cutter should be well designed and the processing conditions should be selected, and the feed speed must be slow to avoid tensile fracture.
