Characteristic
Anhydrous pure Borax is also known as sodium tetraborate. Its appearance is white crystallization or colorless glassy crystal. Anhydrous Borax has strong hygroscopicity, which is water-soluble, glycerol-soluble; and it also can be gradually dissolved in methanol. The concentration of these solutions are 13-16%; and its aqueous solution is alkalescent, which can not be dissolved in alcohol. Anbydrous Borax is the anhydrous material which derives from heating borax up to 350-400°C. Anbydrous Borax will become borax decahydrate or borax pentahydrate when it gets hygroscopicity in air.
Applications
anhydrous pure Borax is the basic material of making boron compounds, almost every boron compound is derived from borax.
It can be used as cosolvent in good-quality glass, glaze, welding, non-ferrous metals and alloy aspects.
As for other applications of this product is similar to the borax category.
