Potassium hydroxide is an inorganic compound with the formula KOH and is commonly called caustic potash.
Along with sodium hydroxide (NaOH), this colorless solid is a prototypical strong base.
Potassium hydroxide easily gets damp and decomposed. Once coming into contact with the air,
it will absorb carbon dioxide from the air and become degraded. It should therefore be stored in a
dry place with intact packaging to keeep it from becoming damp. And it should be stored and carried
separately from any acids. Aluminum, tin, lead, zine and its alloys, explosives, peroxides, ammonium salts,
inflammable, etc. Puring transportation it should be protected with covering, and handle it with care to avoid packaging damage.
