High Strength and Toughness Stainless Steel Woven Wire Screens for Chemical Industry
Mamba Screen Mesh MFG Company’s wire cloth is the fruit of close cooperation with Canadian technology. All equipment in the factory are imported from Germany. Our company strictly follows International Standard, the Guide of Industrial Wire Screen and Woven Wire Cloth. Every process, including Crimping, Weaving, Hook Making, Edge Binding, has its own Work Sheet to cross-reference. Every process must be double-checked and approved by our Quality Supervision Department.
Woven wire screens are versatile mesh products created by weaving wires together to form a grid-like structure. They are widely used across various industries for their strength, durability, and adaptability. Here’s a detailed overview:
- Material Characteristics
- High Strength and Hardness: High carbon steel contains a relatively high carbon content, usually between 0.6% and 1.7%, which endows it with excellent strength and hardness. This enables high carbon steel woven wire screens to withstand heavy loads and strong impacts during use.
- Good Wear Resistance: Due to its high hardness, high carbon steel woven wire screens have outstanding wear resistance. They can resist the abrasion of various materials and maintain stable performance even in harsh working environments.
- Production Process
- Wire Drawing: High carbon steel wire rods are drawn through a series of dies to reduce the diameter and obtain the required wire diameter with high precision and smooth surface.
- Weaving: The drawn high carbon steel wires are woven into wire screens through weaving machines, usually using plain weave, twill weave or other weaving methods.
- Surface Treatment: To improve corrosion resistance and durability, the wire screens may undergo surface treatment processes such as galvanizing, painting or powder coating.
- Specifications
- Mesh Size: Commonly range from a few millimeters to tens of millimeters, such as 3mm×3mm, 5mm×5mm, 10mm×10mm, etc.
- Wire Diameter: Generally between 1.5mm and 6mm.
- Applications
- Mining and Quarrying: Used for screening ores and rocks to separate materials of different particle sizes.
- Construction Industry: Can be used in concrete sieving, sand and gravel screening and other processes.
- Mechanical Manufacturing: Applied in parts cleaning, filtration and other aspects.
- Material Characteristics
- Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Stainless steel contains elements such as chromium, nickel and molybdenum, which can form a dense oxide film on the surface, effectively preventing corrosion and rust. This makes stainless steel woven wire screens suitable for use in humid, corrosive environments.
- Good Heat Resistance: Stainless steel can maintain good mechanical properties and dimensional stability at high temperatures, so it is often used in occasions where there is a need to withstand high temperatures.
- High Strength and Toughness: Stainless steel has high strength and toughness, which can ensure the reliability and service life of the wire screens.
- Production Process
- Wire Drawing: Stainless steel wire rods are drawn to obtain wires of the required diameter and quality.
- Weaving: Similar to high carbon steel wire screens, stainless steel wires are woven into wire screens through weaving machines.
- Finishing: May include processes such as cutting to size, edge treatment and surface polishing to improve the appearance and performance of the wire screens.
- Specifications
- Mesh Size: Vary from very fine meshes for precision filtration to coarser meshes for general screening, such as 0.1mm×0.1mm to 50mm×50mm.
- Wire Diameter: Usually range from 0.2mm to 12.7mm.
- Applications
- Food and Beverage Industry: Used for filtering and sieving food and beverage materials to ensure product quality and hygiene.
- Chemical Industry: Applied in chemical filtration, separation and other processes to resist the corrosion of chemical substances.
- Pharmaceutical Industry: Used for drug filtration, granulation and other processes to meet the high requirements of the pharmaceutical industry for hygiene and precision.
- Filtration and Separation: Widely used in water treatment, air filtration and other fields to separate and filter out impurities and particles.
