Very narrow aisle pallet racking is a traditional selective pallet racking configuration with narrower aisles that can be used with specially designed turret trucks. Although these trucks are usually more expensive than standard forklift trucks, using narrow aisles allows you to store more in less space, resulting in significant savings in construction costs and providing the option of an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS).

Features of Turret Truck:

Narrow aisle turret trucks allow free access to aisles in narrow aisle pallet racking systems, bringing selective benefits without compromising storage density. Some turret trucks are designed to reach heights of up to 30 metres, utilising the full height of the building and providing a very dense pallet storage solution.

In the Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) pallet racking system, the space for separating parallel rack units is significantly reduced and pallets are placed and retrieved using side-loading forklifts. This minimises the size of the aisle between racks and can reduce aisle space by approximately 40%. These pallet racking systems are available in the original slot or teardrop style columns and can be used for heights up to 40 feet.

Forklifts can operate on aisles less than 5 feet wide, which makes VNA storage racks possible. The pallet racking system offers a significant reduction in floor space and generally lowers storage costs. Pallets are 100% selective in very narrow aisle systems. With VNA racking, access to stock is not compromised and the number of products stored in the warehouse is maximised. It is an effective way to increase the amount of pallet storage in a given area.
