Components of Heavy Duty Cantilever Rack

In general, heavy duty cantilever rack is composed of four main components: base, upright column, arm, and bracing.

Base

It serves as the cornerstone of the rack system, which anchors the entire system to the floor, providing a stabilizing guarantee. The size of base depends on the size of arms and the load capacity of the rack.

Upright column

It is fixed on the base and provides support to arms which connect to the column through the holes on it.

Arm

Cargoes will be directly placed on arms. And arms can vary in capacity, can be either straight or inclined, and can weld with end-lips which can prevent cargoes from falling.

Bracing

It is used to enhance the stability of the racking system, including horizontal bracing and diagonal bracing.

Tips for Heavy Duty Cantilever Rack

• Cantilever racks are ideal for sheet metal, lumber, plywood, metal or wooden crates and boxes, tubes and pipes, metal fabricated parts, stone plates, raw stock and surplus items.

• The horizontal distance between two neighboring arms is determined by the length of stored cargoes and the load capacity of each arm. For example, In a cantilever rack with two upright columns, the horizontal distance between two adjacent arms should be half the length of the items being stored, leaving 1/4 of the length hanging over on each end. In a rack with three upright columns, the distance between cantilever arms should be 1/3 of the product length, leaving 1/6 of the product length hanging over on each end.
