Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation or low-level laser therapy, is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of red light to stimulate healing and rejuvenation in the body’s cells and tissues.
This therapy has gained popularity in recent years for its wide range of potential health benefits. The red light used in this treatment penetrates the skin’s surface to reach the deeper layers of tissue, where it promotes increased blood circulation, reduces inflammation, and enhances cellular energy production.
What Is The Difference Between Red Light And Infrared Light?
It may come as a surprise that not all red light therapy is the same.
There is red light and infrared light. The difference lies in how the depth of their wavelengths penetrates the body. Red light occupies the “long end” of the visible spectrum with wavelengths of 630nm-700nm whereas infrared sits right next to red light on the electromagnetic spectrum at 800nm to 1000 nm.
Our panels feature a combination of four types of LED lights (630nm, 660nm, 810nm, and 850nm) with customizable blends, but we prefer a configuration of 660nm and 850nm.
One of the primary applications of red light therapy is in skincare and anti-aging, as it has been shown to stimulate collagen production, reduce wrinkles, and improve overall skin tone and texture. Additionally, this therapy is used for pain management and muscle recovery, with athletes and fitness enthusiasts turning to it for its ability to reduce muscle soreness and speed up the healing process for injuries. Red light therapy may also benefit individuals dealing with conditions such as arthritis, joint pain, and even hair loss, as it can help mitigate inflammation and stimulate hair follicles.
