Can the throttle position sensor be cleaned?
The throttle body itself can be cleaned with carburetor fluid and a clean cloth to remove light sludge. During this process, the throttle position sensor should not be cleaned as this may contaminate or damage the wiring.
How do you diagnose a bad throttle position sensor?
The car doesn't accelerate. It doesn't have enough power or accelerates itself when accelerating.
The engine will not idle smoothly, idle too slowly or stall.
