ED Type Silicon Carbide Rod
Product information:
One reason for the aging of silicon carbide rods is the increase in resistance after normal use, and another reason is that the lifespan of silicon carbide rods ends prematurely due to incorrect operating procedures during use. The reason for abnormal aging of silicon carbide rods is that the voltage was applied too quickly during initial use, resulting in uneven heating and causing the rods to not adapt to the temperature inside the furnace, leading to rapid wear and tear and affecting their service life. Secondly, the silicon carbide rod was not installed correctly during use. When the temperature inside the furnace rapidly heats up, the silicon carbide rod also expands slightly. However, there is no gap left for the components during installation, which affects the surface expansion of the silicon carbide rod and shortens its service life. Of course, another reason is that the silicon carbide rod was not properly matched during use, which can quickly shorten its service life. The latter reason is also a common occurrence, which is that under high temperature conditions, the O2, CO2, and water vapor in the air can strongly promote the oxidation of carbon nanotubes, generating a glassy SiO2 film. The resistivity of SiO2 is higher than that of SiC, which increases the resistance. Because of this layer of SiO2, the thin film can protect the inner layer of Sic from further oxidation, so after continuous use for a certain period of time, the increase in resistance will slow down.
