ED Type Silicon Carbide Rod
As an element that exhibits excellent performance in the field of industrial heating, the ED-type silicon carbide rod is worthy of in-depth analysis regarding its unique features.
In terms of material composition, silicon carbide, being the main component, endows the silicon carbide rod with outstanding high-temperature resistance. The equal-diameter structural design ensures that the diameters of the heating part and the cold end remain highly consistent, and this design feature holds significant importance in practical applications. The heating part is formed by pressing and sintering high-purity silicon carbide particles through special processes. This process not only guarantees the compactness of the structure but also constructs a good conductive network inside.
In terms of the working principle, when an electric current passes through the silicon carbide rod, its own resistance characteristics become crucial. The existence of resistance enables electrical energy to be efficiently converted into thermal energy, thus realizing the heating function. When heated in the air, the surface of the heating part of the element can reach a high temperature of around 1400℃ - 1500℃. Under this high-temperature condition, a dense silicon dioxide film will be formed on the surface of the silicon carbide rod. The formation of this film is due to the reaction between silicon carbide and the oxygen in the air at high temperatures. However, its unique antioxidant effect can effectively protect the internal silicon carbide structure of the silicon carbide rod from further oxidation, thereby prolonging the service life of the silicon carbide rod.
