SIC Heating Element Description
Silicon carbide heating element is a non-metallic rod or tube shaped high temperature electric heating element. Ultra-pure green hexagonal silicon carbide is selected as the main material, and blank and silicon crystals are made at 2400ºC. In the oxidizing atmosphere, the service temperature can reach 1450℃, and the continuous service life can reach 2000 hours. The dumbbell type element, with an expanded cold end, was one of the earliest designs of the heating element. In contrast, modern dumbbell components all employ advanced technology that keeps the end cool due to the reduced resistivity of the cold end material during the manufacturing process. As a result, oversized cold endpoints are no longer needed. Non-dumbbell elements or ED type elements can be substituted for dumbbell elements.
