Precautions for MoSi2 elements
1.One should be cautious not to use MoSi₂ heating elements when the temperature is within 400 ℃ to 700 ℃. Under such circumstances, low-temperature oxidation may occur, causing damage to the elements.
2.MoSi₂ heating elements are suitable for air and neutral atmospheres only. Hydrogen in a reducing atmosphere will damage the protective layer, and chlorine and sulfur vapor will have a direct negative impact on the elements.
3.When the temperature is above 1500 ℃, MoSi₂ heating elements become soft. At low temperatures, they are hard and brittle. To avoid stress during temperature changes and enable the elements to expand and contract smoothly, the free vertical hanging installation method is ideal. This makes it easier to remove and replace the lifting elements and allows for heat exchange without having to wait for the furnace to cool.
