Precautions for MoSi2 elements
MoSi₂ heating elements should be avoided from being used within the temperature range of 400 ℃ to 700 ℃. Under these adverse conditions, the elements will be oxidized at low temperatures and suffer damage.
These heating elements are designed to be used in air and neutral atmospheres. Reducing atmospheres such as hydrogen will damage the protective layer, and chlorine and sulfur vapor will directly damage the elements.
MoSi₂ heating elements soften at high temperatures (above 1500 ℃) and are hard and brittle at low temperatures. To avoid stress during temperature changes and facilitate the expansion and contraction of the elements, the free vertical hanging installation method is highly recommended. This makes the removal and replacement of lifting elements more convenient and enables heat exchange without waiting for the furnace to cool down.
