DB ( Dumbbell ) Type Silicon Carbide Heating Element for Furnaces
Silicon carbide (SiC) heating element is a non-metallic rod-shaped or tubular high-temperature electric heating element. The main material is selected ultra pure green hexagonal silicon carbide, which is made into billets and silicon crystals at a high temperature of 2400 ℃. Under an oxidizing atmosphere, the operating temperature can reach 1450 ° C, and the continuous service life can reach 2000 hours.
Dumbbell shaped components with enlarged cold ends were one of the earliest designs for heating elements, initially designed to be too large to increase the cross-section of the cold end, reduce resistance, and thus lower the operating temperature of the cold end. Modern dumbbell components use advanced technology to maintain terminal cooling, as the lower resistance of the cold end material reduces its electrical resistivity during the manufacturing process. Therefore, there is no longer a need for oversized cold ends. Non dumbbell or ED type components can replace dumbbell components.
