U-shaped silicon carbide rod
The U - shaped silicon carbide heating element operates based on the principle of Joule heating.
Heat Transfer
As the silicon carbide heating element generates heat, heat transfer occurs. The heat is mainly transferred through three modes: conduction, convection, and radiation.Conduction: Heat is conducted from the high - temperature part of the U - shaped heating element to the adjacent low - temperature part and then to the objects in contact with it, such as the walls of the furnace.
Convection: In a furnace with a gas medium, the hot gas near the heating element rises due to its lower density, and the cold gas descends. This convective flow of gas helps to distribute the heat more evenly throughout the furnace.
Radiation: The U - shaped silicon carbide heating element also emits thermal radiation. The heat is radiated outwards in the form of electromagnetic waves, which can directly heat the objects that can absorb this radiation within the effective range of the furnace.
