SS 304/ 304l / 304H are types of stainless steel. Such stainless steels are one of the most commonly used. Other than iron, this steel contains nickel and chromium from 8 to 10% and 18 to 20% respectively. It is mostly non-magnetic in nature. These possess more corrosion resistance in comparison to normal steel. Such material is usually preferred in industries as it can withstand several corrosion environments. Environments where there are chances of crevice corrosion and also stress corrosion cracking. The difference between SS 304/ 304l / 304H is just based on carbon content. Where SS 304H contains approximately 0.04 to 0.10 % of the carbon that provides high-temperature strength to it. On the contrary, SS 304I contains only 0.03 % of carbon that prevents its sensitivity throughout welding.
