Carbon fiber manufacturing uses some carbon-containing organic fibers (nylon, acrylic, etc.) as raw materials, which are strongly carbonized together with plastics, resins, etc., and the final chemical composition contains 90% carbon.
Carbon fiber has a very small fineness (i.e., the number of grams per 90KM length), generally 19 grams. It has high axial strength, high modulus, no degeneration, good fatigue resistance, and a small thermal expansion coefficient, but generally has poor impact resistance.

Carbon fiber materials Advantages:
(1) Tensile strength: The tensile strength of carbon fiber is about 10 times that of steel.
(2) Elastic modulus: The tensile elastic modulus of carbon fiber composites is higher than that of steel, but the tensile elastic modulus of aramid and glass fiber composites is only half and one-quarter of that of steel.
(3) Fatigue strength: The fatigue strength of carbon fiber and aramid fiber composites is higher than that of high-strength steel wire. Under alternating stress, the fatigue limit of metal materials is only 30% to 40% of the static load strength.
Because the composite of fiber and matrix can alleviate crack propagation and there is the possibility of redistribution of internal force in the fiber, the fatigue limit of the composite material is higher, about 70% to 80% of the static load strength,
and there are significant signs of deformation before failure.
(4) Weight: about one-fifth of steel.
Carbon fiber is a fibrous carbon material with greater strength than steel and less density than aluminum.
It has better corrosion resistance than stainless steel and better high temperature resistance than heat-resistant steel.

Compared with general materials, it has the following characteristics:
1. Specific gravity advantage, which is only 23% of steel.
2. Low inertia, rotational inertia, and torque are reduced by an average of 50% compared with steel core.
3. High specific strength, which is 20 times that of steel core, and specific modulus is about 5 times that of steel core, which can give rollers with large aspect ratios smaller deflection.
4. It can increase the limit speed of the roller body, which is more than double the speed of steel rollers.
