ASTM A240/A240M--01 Stainless Steel Bright Round Bar

Most stainless steel ordered around the world is Grade 304. It offers the standard corrosion resistance, formability, strength, and easy maintenance for which stainless is known. While 316 comes in second in terms of quantities sold, it offers vastly superior corrosion resistance to chlorides and acids.

Steel round bars are available in black or bright steel. Black steel round bar is typically used for applications like construction where finish and precise dimensions aren't a priority. Conversely, bright steel round bar is used for applications where a superior surface finish and exact dimensions are essential.
